I don't agree that Samsung Galaxy Tab is an iPad killer, but I accept that it's a very cool device. I really like its specifications and its design. It is definitely a high-end product. That's great that today we've got some choice at the tablet market.

i second you up bcoz im also having the same problem... i have a vodafone connection but i'm using an ACER LIQUID Handset with Android OS... Same problem..
how do i get the Connection Points so that i can access the net..
after all ANDROIDS live and breathe only when internet is available...
anyone out there with a solution to this problem?

P.S. i also checked the vvodafone website for the list of compatible phones on GPRS... strangely if i am not mistaken, all the cellphones mentioned over there were not based on Android O/S....... and even stranger is that my family members who are using an Idea Connection can access the Internet through Idea GPRS...
Please advise what do i do

hi ravi,

sorry for the late reply.
well, i had this N97 Demo phone. In that you have an option in ur connection setting to set / create new access points. Their you can select and existing access point and set it as default.

Also in that you get set of access-point's while you access any app, so you could select Vodafone live from that list.

I never had a hand on android so it would be hard to comment, but i am sure you can find some similar option in the connection area in the android phone - setting / or if you some across some alternative solution... do let me know.

I wanted to try out Jolicloud before I had my home laptop run it. I installed the iso via vmplayer and the install went through fine. Networking is fine and I am able to get to the internet. But I am not able to install any apps. You run into this issue?

I agree, even salesforce.com has an AIR - based desktop tool, but finally everything is save on web or on remote location.

PaaS is quite a broad term and has many definitions -
One definition is, as you describe, to have EVERYTIING on the web, and THE ONLY interface is a web browser (this is also our vision) lets call this the webPaaS -

For most of the PaaS provider however, the development still happens in locally installed tools: Microsoft Azure still uses Visual Studio for code writing, and Google Appengine some Java editor -
The difference between PaaS and SaaS is however, that you upload source code, and not binaries ...

as many other users on twitter, i think the new RT feature sucks ...
1) the name of the re-tweeter should be first & big - I am interested, who recommends I know, and not, who wrote it (i probably dont know)
2) RT has to be editable - which means: shorten and add a few commenting words ...
